KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 — Malaysia’s wholesale and retail commerce worth grew 5.7 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM112.5 billion in July 2019, based on the Division of Statistics Malaysia.
In a press release in the present day, chief statistician Datuk Seri Mohd Uzir Mahidin attributed the expansion to wholesale commerce, which elevated 6.6 per cent y-o-y to RM52.four billion, adopted by retail commerce, which improved 7.1 per cent y-o-y to RM46.5billion.

On retail commerce development, Mohd Uzir stated the sub-sector was pushed by retail sale of meals, drinks and tobacco in specialised shops (up 10.5 per cent y-o-y), retail sale of different items in specialised shops (up eight.2 per cent y-o-y), and retail sale in non-specialised shops (up eight.1 per cent y-o-y). — Bernama
